Goals for the second half of 2026

Writing these down so they’re harder to quietly abandon.

Engineering

  • Ship the financial data platform to production with real traffic.
  • Get properly comfortable with Postgres internals — WAL, MVCC, vacuum.
  • Publish at least one article a month here.

Health

  • Run a full marathon under 4 hours.
  • Sleep before midnight on weekdays. This is the hard one.

Learning

  • Finish The Go Programming Language, cover to cover.
  • Read one non-technical book a month.

I’ll revisit this in December and be honest about what actually happened.
